About Ken

In 2004, I received my Coaching Certification from the Hudson Institute and in the process fell in love the work of a Coach. Over the next 15 years while working as a senior leader for Actuarial and Finance teams at Nationwide Insurance, my passion for coaching energized me to find/make time to provide coaching to over 100 associates. At the end of 2019,  I was ready to retire after 35 years in the insurance industry to launch my second career as a Coach. I believe I bring a unique combination of strengths to my coaching engagements: the mindset, emotional intelligence and training of a Certified Coach; the analytical and critical thinking skills of an Actuary and Finance associate; and leadership experience gained from 15 years as a C-Suite executive over multiple functions.

I enjoy being actively involved in my community.  I currently serve on the Board of Directors for the Valley of the Sun United Way, was past president of the Arizona regional affiliates for multiple national Actuarial organizations, am lifetime Board Member for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, and a proud graduate of Scottsdale Leadership.  An avid promoter of the Actuarial  career, I teach for Arizona State University's Actuarial Degree program, and am a member of that program's Industry Advisory Panel.

In addition to having earned a coaching certification, I hold a Bachelors of Science, Mathematics from RPI (Troy, NY), am a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, and am certified to administer the Center for Creative Leadership's suite of 360 tools.

When not working, I relax by taking photos of nature, cooking, playing sports, and spending time with my wife (Sarah), our adult children, and our dog, Rocky. Originally from NY, I moved to beautiful Arizona over 25 years ago where we now split our time between Phoenix and Flagstaff.
